Another outing to a local bathroom and kitchen place this afternoon to get some more ideas for the house build and the costs involved. They had a huge range of bathroom accessories and were less impressive on the kitchen side of things, which is reflected in this post.
Floor tiling is an area I haven’t costed to date and I got some help here:
Large 60 x 60 floor tiles. We will be using these throughout the inside. Around $10.00 m2.
Same per m2 cost but half sized. These are for walls.
Plenty of choice although I think that the stock you see is the supply you get a problem I have read about in the building forums.
Back into bathroom basins and what a huge range of cheap options there are here. Taps are extra.
$125.00. Pretty classy.
$80.00 for basin $210.00 for the tap! More expensive because it is a mixer hot/cold. Most Thai bathrooms only have cold water. A non-mixer tap would be a third of this price.
I quite liked this square benchtop idea $125.00 for the basin.
Mixer hot/cold tap. This one looks good and at $75.00 would do the job.
On special at $43.00! Beat that Bunnings!
Another square wall mounted option with hidden plumbing under for $160.00
Toilet/basin and tap package specials ranging from $140.00 to $515.00. hard to beat.
A full cabinet and basin option $325.00.
Another at the same cost.
If you want cheap how about this one at $14.00!!!! Basin only.
Never sure about the clear glass basins. Would look good in a modern bathroom I guess $230.00. This special has increased the price!
A whole different shape again $460.00
Not keen on this one. A bit top heavy looking – $255.00.
And again $300.00. I don’t know what this would cost in Australia but I am thinking several times this.
A small glass option for only $130.00. You can see by the thickness of the glass that this is quality stuff.
For something very different $300.00.
If pink is your thing $260.00
Now that’s what I call a shower head. This is what I am putting into our place with all the supporting equipment to ensure a “real” shower.
Complete with mixer tap around $500.00 so not cheap.
Back to toilets $75.00. No soft close lid though 🙁
Am getting two of these at $1,200. Heated seat, cleans you and has a massage option. I will never be seen outside the bathroom. I especially like the flower in the cistern idea. Very classy. Maybe a toothbrush option if you aren’t into flowers.
One for small kids or pet monkeys:
Small – lovely.
More kitchen sinks. This was good quality at $130.00
Bulk hot water heater. European brand $415.00
Panasonic 6000W instant hot water heater. These are installed on the shower wall $220.00.
I was talking in the first inclusions blog post about the Thai concrete kitchens and how you just insert the doors and drawer units. This is what they look like pre-install. Concrete frame and tiled fronts. I don’t think we will be going down this path unless the budget is looking pretty sick.
A concrete kitchen.
So I have done bathrooms to death. As you can see there is excellent choice here and the costs seem extremely reasonable to me. I can’t remember what I last paid for basins and toilets in Australia but I am sure it was a lot more for a lot less than I have shown you here and in the previous post HERE.
