This little cafe caught my fancy this morning on the way back from dropping some friends off at the dentist. Holidays in Thailand seem to often combine a visit to the dentist, which are excellent quality and a fraction of the cost of Australia. Gaun recently had her teeth checked and a full clean for $18.00.

Natwat Home Cafe is on the Charoen Raj Road, a very narrow road which runs between the Super Highway and the 106, the Chiang Mai – Lamphun Road, next to the River Ping. The cafe’s GPS coordinates are N18 47.960 E099 00.273. This can be a very busy road as it feeds into a number of bridges over the river and into Chiang Mai city. On the side facing the river there are heaps of restaurants and bars and cafes. A good area to wander although you compete with the cars for the road as there is no footpath for most of the road.

From the Superhighway the cafe is almost immediately after the first set of traffic lights on the left hand side. Straight after the cafe is a small soi on the left, which allows you to park behind, a very useful option as there is little parking on the road.

Although the cafe itself is on such a busy road they have set it up to take advantage of the land. Nice gardens with tables and chairs are situated at the back and side that are private from the road.

A good find and worth a return visit.

If you are in the area you can also check out the Wat Ket Karam Museum HERE and the Tanita House Cafe HERE – all very close to the Natwat Cafe.

Thanks for reading.
